雷德祖 1942年生于广西南宁。1966年毕业于广西艺术学院。现为中国美术家协会会员、广西美术家协会副主席、中国连环画研究会常务理事、全国连环画艺委会评委、全国文代会代表。美术界有“南顾北刘”、“南雷北燕”之称。曾连续三年被评为“全国十佳连环画家”，曾获“第二届全国连环画评奖二等奖”、“中国优秀美术图书特别金奖”、“第六届全国美展铜奖”。代表作有《斯巴达克思》、《江南一叶》、《粤海忠魂》。
Lei Dezu was born in Nanning, Guangxi in 1942. In 1966, Lei graduated from Guangxi Academy of Arts. As an artist who achieved greatly, Lei is the winner of the Second Prize of the 2nd National Comic Book Strip Contest, the Second Prize of the 3rd National Comic Book Strip and the First Prize of the 4th National Comic Book Strip Contest. Master works include Spartacus, Leaf of Jiangnan, etc. Currently Lei is a member of China Artists Association, Vice President of Guangxi Art Association, jury of art committee of National Comics, etc.
